Infertility – A Common Ailment
Infertility being a very common problem in the US, many couples are making an attempt to conceive with very few actually getting the desired results. How to get pregnant for women is not as easy as it was before. Even after several efforts couples still are childless due to some infertility problem persistent in either of the spouses. The amount of mental stress caused by infertility is too much and at the same time it also needs intricate medical care and attention to cure it. To overcome infertility, you first need to learn the different types of infertility, the main reasons that cause infertility and different ways by which you can overcome this.
The main definition of infertility is when a couple is unable to conceive in spite of having regular and unprotected sex for long. In men and women the causes of infertility are many and there are options to cure it for a successful conception. If a couple finds out that they are facing troubles in conceiving then they should immediately visit a doctor. Ideally it is best to go see a reproductive endocrinologist who is a doctor specializing in cases of infertility. The doctor will perform various tests on the couple’s reproductive system to figure out the cause and once the cause of infertility is discovered a proper treatment for the same is suggested. The endocrinologists will first and foremost advice the couple how to get pregnant in the right way. If the ways of getting pregnant in the right manner also does not work then a proper course of action will be taken by the doctor.
There exists two main types of infertility, one is the Primary infertility and the other is the secondary infertility. The former one is the type where the couple has always been unable to conceive. The latter being one where in the past the couple did conceive but now they are unable to do so. There several other classifications of the same as well, like the ‘Combined Infertility’ where both the spouses have to suffer from a fertility disorder thereby making the possibility of conceiving even more difficult. There is a certain percentage of couples say 15% who have the ‘Unexplained Infertility’ where none of the partners suffer from any abnormality in the reproductive system but still are unable to conceive. The reasons for ‘unexplained infertility’ are many, some can be attributed to poor quality in the eggs of the woman, the egg not being able to reach the fallopian tubes on time or sub-optimal ovulation.
The causes for the female and male infertility are many, in males it is mostly the low count of sperms or their function. It can also be due to poor delivery of the sperm, some health problems like obesity, drug or alcohol abuse, stress etc. An excess exposure to some environmental elements like lead or pesticide is also a common cause among men for infertility. In women, it is due to the blockage of the fallopian tube, the PCOS or the Polycystic ovarian syndrome, disorders in ovulation or maybe early menopause.
