Getting pregnant is not as easy as it seems. It is a fact that unprotected sexual intercourse can lead to pregnancy, but it is a fallacy that every intercourse will lead to conception. In reality, thousands of couples have been planning to have a baby for years already and yet they still fail to do so. There are couples who try any mean possible to conceive a baby yet fate is still against their side. This makes it equally important to know the ways on how to get pregnant.

Pregnancy is like the game of basketball. No matter how you control the ball, it will still bounce in a direction you really don’t expect. But just like basketball, there are ways in order to win the game. You just have to learn your enemy and do the most effective ways to win the game. In pregnancy, you have to know the enemies—drugs, alcohol, tobacco use, hazardous chemicals, and other substances which can cause infertility. Also, you have to know the means that would give you the best chance of conceiving a child.

In basketball, you should when is the best time to shoot the ball. In pregnancy, couples need to know when the woman is fertile. In order to do this, woman should learn the calendar method and know how to monitor their BBT or Basal Body Temperature. Calendar-based method is a method of estimating a woman’s likelihood of fertility, based on a record of the length of previous menstrual cycles which actually have two kinds: the Standard Days method and Rhythm method. The Standard Days Method may only be used by women whose cycles are always between 26 and 32 days in length. In Rhythm method, a woman whose menstrual cycles ranged in length from 30 to 36 days would be estimated to be infertile for the first 11 days of her cycle, to be fertile on days 12-25, and to resume infertility on day 26. Measuring the Basal Body Temperature on the other hand allows a woman to know when she is pregnant when her temperature jumps up significantly about halfway through the month.

However, if a couple has been trying for almost a year already and yet they fail to have child, it is recommended for them to see a doctor. This could be an indication of infertility either of the male or the female even both.

Pregnancy is highly regarded as a goal of every couple. Having a child means having a new family member and brand new delight to the family. Lastly, couples have to be patient as having your own little kid can be frustrating. But once you succeed, the wait will all be worth it.
